Core Enterprises wraps up construction on one of Somerset County’s largest commercial development properties, adding 14,000 sf (+/-) of space to Raritan Valley Professional Center. Larken Associates acquired the once undervalued and neglected Raritan Valley Professional Center in 2015, and contracted Core Enterprises to renovate the existing two buildings and construct a third.

Formerly known as the Henderson Building, Building One is a concrete, three-story slab building with more than 40,000 sf (+/-) of space. Core Enterprises began modernizing the building in October of 2015 with extensive renovations including new carpeting, lighting and wall coverings. The main lobby was upgraded, a custom fitness center was added for tenant use and a second lobby was built for easy access to the employee parking lot. Exteriors were refinished, signage was replaced and landscaping was updated for a fresh and modern feel. The property now features ample parking and is handicap accessible.

Building Two, the old Carriage House, was fully renovated in 2016 and remains an active and vibrant part of Raritan Valley Professional Center. Once owned by the late New Jersey Senator Joseph S. Frelinghuysen Sr., the Carriage House is the site where President Warren G. Harding signed the Knox-Porter Resolution in 1921, effectively ending the United States’ involvement in World War I. A plaque commemorating the signing exists on estate grounds along Route 28.

Core Enterprises fully renovated the 17,000 sf (+/-) Carriage with new restrooms, LED lighting and high-end fixtures and finishes. The building has all new windows, roofing and HVAC systems, yet maintains the integrity of the structure’s original character and style.

Core Enterprises broke ground on Building Three, a brand new, ground-up office building, in April of 2017. Tenants can choose to customize their space with private restroom facilities and kitchenettes. With occupancy slated for the first quarter of this year, this much-needed addition to Raritan Valley Professional Center has already been 50% pre-leased.

Larken Associates is proud to say that thanks to Core Enterprises’ extensive renovations, Raritan Valley Professional Center is now a highly successful Class B medical and office complex, fulfilling its clients’ every need. Core Enterprises will continue to provide property management and maintenance to the development.
